20 Jun Books & Cats
June 2024
Those who’ve been our guests in the last few years here at the Standard B&B have met the cat who’s in the picture with me for sure: Baffix, Charlie, Tredici, Skat, Cat, Giorgino…
He’s always had thousands names.
He lives closeby the Standard B&B, you can see him on his frontdoor or sunbathing on a car. He’s lived a long life and he also carries a sad story in his heart. He is a indoor cat but he also likes to be on the road, in his territory and like all the cats he wants to eat, drink and a lot of cuddles… If he is in the mood to. But most of all he wants to be free jus t like cats can be.
He is the cat who tamed and charmed me: he showed me the magic of cats and now that we cannot find him I miss him so much and I look for some comfort and relief in the pages of the books.
Lately books and novels about cats are a real trend in publishing industry.
There is also another connection with books, cats and Japan that I can only deeply love.
It may be for all the cartoons I loved as a child but Japan has always been a special place in my heart and soul.
What charmed me the most is the grace in telling stories, the attention to the detail that eastern glance can transfer on the page.
The titles you’ll find here below are in our library and you can read them while you’re here as our guests or you can find them in you bookshop.
We’ve bought most of the in our favourite bookshop: From Outer Space, this is and indipendent bookshop owned by Agnese with whom I also share the love for cats.
Sometimes we go together to the locar cat shelter Oasi Felina “Gli Aristogatti” to help these lovely magic creatures.
